Environmental and Social Impact Assessment

The terms uses to assess the potential Environmental and Social impacts of the Project are known as ESIA, EIA, IEE and SEA. It is the multidisciplinary approach, which combines the evaluation of the social, environmental, ecological and economic aspects of a project and determines the ultimate consequences of undertaking the project.

Due diligence Studies

The HESS has been involved in due-diligence studies of the Projects to assess the current status of the Project or its activities, identification of the Gaps in the ESMS, capacity analyses, project impacts on the sensitive receptors, compatibility of the project process to environment, recommendations for improvements and assistance to develop ESAP Action items.

Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP)

We assist the lender in due diligence process to develop ESAP action item that is effective and comprehensive to the practical approach so as to achieve targets for the E&S compliances at Project. The ESAP to contain the real time impact mitigation as proactive approach to reduce, mitigate and /or manage the impact to the minimum level or where possible eliminate it. The action items contains the ample time to approach the mitigation and control the risk at workplace, reduce impact on primary and secondary receptors and resources required to achieve the goal. 

Baseline Environmental and Social Studies

Environmental Baseline Studies determine the characterization of an area prior the development of a project and establish the initial environmental status. Social Surveys

Birds and Bat Monitoring (Focused areas)

Besides the Procedure development for Bird and Bat monitoring, our scope covers monitoring of bird and bats that consider all avifauna species with a focus of threatened species as indicated on the IUCN Red list. The scope is designed as per the local and international guideline, financiers’ requirement and subsequent Good International Industry Practice (GIIP).  The method of bird monitoring covers vantage point studies, line transect, point surveys, active searching, carcass searches, scavenger efficiency trial and Signs / Tracks methods. The bat monitoring shall cover the scope of searching bats by physical search in old structures and using ultrasound detectors monitoring method. The surveys will identify IUCN globally threatened/near-threatened species, key foraging and roosting/resting areas and important habitats and propose mitigations measures.

Fauna and Flora Studies

Hydrology

Our team consisting of professional hydrologist conducts survey for the water resources, its distribution and management that includes environmental watershed sustainability. We conduct hydrological studies for the Project, collect data, analyzing the impact and propose solution to minimize the impact. The study of hydrology covers the data of the water channels and associated intermediate sub-channels. Our proposed mitigation measures recommends conservation, preservation and sustainability of the water resources in the area of study.

Monitoring of irrigation projects

We have expertise in a comprehensive E&S and OHS (Environmental & Social and Occupational Health & Safety) monitoring and evaluation of irrigation system for irrigation projects at interrelated levels of construction and operation & maintenance of irrigation and drainage facilities. Supply Chain Management

Wastewater Treatment Plant
